October at Our Home

So as you can see it has been a full month of traveling at our home. Aaron attended two conferences, and I attended two conferences…all within 30 days! We decided to get all our traveling out at one time! But it was so rich! True Woman & Relevant were life changing experiences, ones I will cherish and continue to learn and grow from and will surely be inspiration for my writing. It is certainly fall here in the Northwest and the weather is mighty nippy. We are bringing out the warm soups and stews! Karis and Titus are doing very well – learning the importance of playing peacefully together has certainly been our challenge. Karis took the scissors to Titus hair this month and we had to say farewell to his adorable curls. I am praying they come back! But every moment with them is such a gift – of that I am certain!

We are settling down this month getting ready for a simple holiday season.

I do enjoy your reading list. Yours and your children’s. I do have trouble finding them in local libraries. And Google books. They add up financially–It may be the “used” revisions in Amazon are my best option.

That book sounds great! I forgot it was even on my Amazon wishlist until I just went to add it LOL

Thanks for those real food links too … we’re not where we’d like to be yet, but we’re working on it … and I could definitely use some new recipes lol

I just started it and like it thus far. It’s just like Netflix (minus the streaming) but far better content – inspiring to the soul! You can certainly check out all the resources online. We are having a giveaway on Saturday – stay tuned!

You’ll love “Because He Loves Me” by Elyse Fitzpatrick. We need the Jesus’ power, and to understand the gospel in our daily lives! It has been very encouraging and re-orienting for me.

I just wanted to encourage you that you,re really are in a tough period of mothering – at least that’s what I realized in hindsight – and I think it’s okay to admit that to yourself and ask for extra help from God and others. My first two are 22 months apart and the hardest time I had was when they were 3 and 1. (Either that or I just got used to it!) I refused to acknowledge that it was hard and I was so hard on myself, too. I just want other moms to give themselves a break at that stage!

Now mine are 7, 5, and 2. It has been much easier with the third, even though I was juggling homeschooling as well by the time #3 was born. So be hopeful about the future and how God will grow you and somehow caring for the children will get a bit easier!

Hey Courtney- Sorry to jump in here! Just curious about where you bought the “Wise Words for Moms” charts in bulk… I am the nursery coordinator at my church and think this would be a great resource to hand out to the parents… let me know :) Thanks!
