Let it Snow!

Yes, it has been some wild weather over here as of late. It snows, melts, snows some more, and melts again. Now we are supposed to get 5-6 inches before the weekend is out. That may not sound much to you, but to us here in the Northwest…it is actually pretty significiant! Anyway, we are enjoying it and Karis loves it! She calls it “doe” as the “s” sound is not quite working yet. ;) We may even have snow for Christmas – which would be incredible! I still laugh to see how much everything shuts down here in the Northwest after we experience some snow. All events lately are being canceled…Alas!

12/22 UPDATE: Wow! We are 12 inches here now! This is the biggest snow storm we have had in 10 years! It is so beautiful!

Merry Christmas to you all! May you be filled with the joy of our Savior’s birth!

We were just up in the Portland/Vancouver area on Dec. 20-23rd. We were visiting family up there. The snow was just beautiful. We were looking around at the area to see if we might consider and pray about relocating but it was hard to know what it’s really like because of all the snow. :) We were blessed with the beauty too, as we’re from Northern Ca. Thanks for your God-honoring blog! I am trying to tell my sister in law about it as she lives in Vancouver also.

What pretty pictures! I’m in Northern California and we never get snow where I am…what a treat it would be! Enjoy your white Christmas!!

I live in the Northwest too, and you’re right. Everything does stop when it snows. Several churche services were cancelled yesterday, the streets are pretty much deserted.

We have about a foot and are expecting more. So unusual. I am just so thankful to the Lord that we have our electricity. My mom lives with us and I would not want her to get too cold.

I wish we had snow here (Tupelo, MS)…we just seem to keep getting tons of rain! Merry Christmas to you and your family! I read your blog daily…I don’t comment too much but I really enjoy reading your entries! Blessings to you!

That is so intriguing that you don’t get snow up there. Down here in southeast Texas, we NEVER ever get snow, and it miraculously snowed 3 inches last week. We were thrilled. I guess we just assume that you guys get snow all the time up there – well, enjoy it!! What a special treat, huh?

I hope things don’t stay closed too long for you. We only have about 8 inches accumulated so far, but we are used to it in central/eastern Washington. I am thankful that I don’t live as far east as Spokane and in Idaho where they’ve gotten 3 feet this week!

I like the hat Karis is wearing.

Aaron looks cold in that lightweight jacket. And no gloves, or scarf. Man you guys never do get winter temps do you?

We haven’t had a lot of snow here, oh well. We leave for Florida tomorrow, so it will be a week till we see winter temps!!!

The children are so excited to go to Disney World!

We have been surprised to see everything being closed, too! :) We tried to go to the library today, to get some books on hold, and it was closed. Gen kept requesting that we get stuck in the snow while we were driving around (hehe), but thankfully that didn’t happen! :) By the way, I love your hat!
    Blessings,
    Michele

That is funny…I thought I was so out of style wearing my husband’s hat. I just stole it temporarily!
