Thanks to my friend, Kristi, I was made aware of a wonderful FREE homeschooling unit study curriculum with a mission minded focus! Teaching with God’s Whole Heart for the World by Ann Dunagan looks like an amazing resource to use in stirring up a heart for missions within your children!
Here is a description from the website:
This is the two-volume world missions curriculum (with over 500 pages) Ann wrote years ago to assist homeschooling families and Christian teachers (in both churches and Christian schools) to impart a fervent heart for world missions in children. The curriculum includes day-by-day teaching plans, missionary highlights, motivational mission stories, crafts, songs, prayer projects, and hundreds of ways to incorporate a passion for the lost into nearly every subject (including Bible Study, Family Devotions, Reading, Writing, Geography, History, Art, Science, and even highlights for Math).
I am excited to store this back in my freezer for upcoming use with my children! Since missions is a great passion of my heart, I definitely want to see this pass on to the next generation!

Thanks for posting this! What a great resource.
Hello Everyone!
I just wanted to thank you all for the generous comments, feedback, and thoughtful recommendations concerning this “Teaching With God’s Heart for the World” curriculum. I wrote this about 16 years ago, and it’s now totally out-of-print. If you look on Amazon, you may be able to find a few spiral-bound copies “floating around” . . . but since they were nearly impossible to find, my husband and I (and the original publisher) made the decision to put the material on-line (as printable “pdf” files) totally for FREE. We now have seven children (ages 7 to 21) and we’re in our 18th year of homeschooling.
This year, I’m actually “working through” this curriculum, and I’m adding updated thoughts and resources as I’m using it with our three youngest kids (ages 7, 10, 12). Just recently, I’ve put together an on-line blog forum especially to help with weekly interaction and encouragement throughout the year (and I’m finding all kinds of mistakes and things I don’t like . . . and I’m adding new ideas which have come from the last 16 years of experience, both in teaching, and in world missions).
There are quite a few families using it this year . . . and I’d love it if any of you would like to come and share YOUR thoughts and ideas with some mission-minded friends.
Blessings to you all!
Ann
Thank you so much for letting us know about this. This is exactly what I have been looking for. A way to teach history and geography that is meaningful and with a Biblical worldview. Thanks
Christy
Our family just started using this wonderful missions curriculum this year. We are really enjoying it!
This looks great; thanks so much for passing it on!

I have the hard copy of this curriculum. I purchased both volumes for $5 on clearance. We are using it this year with our children(ages 14,8, and 6.) I like it because I can do everyone at once and then work one on one with them on their 3R’s. I didn’t know that it was available online. What a wonderful blessing!
I used this curriculum with my kids a few years back and it was definitely life-changing! I have used many unit study curriculum over the 9 years I have been homeschooling, but I have to say this one was the absolute best! I would wait until your kiddos are about 3-5th grade to get the most from it. Blessings and thanks for all your great posts!
