To the love of my life: Happy Valentine’s Day!

What a wonderful day to celebrate the wonderful love that the Lord has blessed us with! I am so thankful for the blessing of a godly husband!

What fun to serve a special breakfast for the hubby! Aaron’s favorite is pancakes (we can’t get enough of this wonderful recipe!) with peanut butter and maple syrup. I thought of cuting them into the shape of a heart, but didn’t want to waste the delicious pancakes, so I kind of laid them out in the shape of a heart. ;)

Next, I served him a mug of warm hot cocoa…with a new recipe! It was delicious. You should try it. I bought this valentine mug last year and wrote a new message all over it with a permanent marker.

Hot Cocoa

1 Tbls. cocoa powder
3-4 Tbls rapadura
1/2 cup coconut milk or more

I first mixed the cocoa powder and rapadura together. I then filled the mug half-way up with coconut milk. Slowly mix in hot water to fill the mug. You may have to add more milk or rapadura to get the flavor you like. I prefer it sweeter myself.

Tonight we are dropping off the queen bee at my parents and we will come back to the house for a special dinner for two. Candles, martinelli’s and all!

The Menu

Chicken Cordon Bleu (I will be using smoked gouda cheese)
Green Salad (tons of fresh greens this week in our produce bin…been eating them with every meal, practically!)
Deviled Eggs
Mashed Potatoes
Chocolate Fondue for dessert w/strawberries, bananas, pears, oranges! (I have been looking forward to using our fondue pot forever!)

I love you Aaron!

Thank you for your faithful diligence in providing for our family! I love you for your heart to serve the Lord. I love the way you treasure our daughter. I love the way you make me laugh (no one does it the way you do!). I love the way you tenderly care for me! You are the best gift the Lord has given me!

Just a hint for next time. Place the heart cookie cutters on the griddle (or whatever you use) and fill them up that way. No wasting pancake batter. Lift the cutters when bubbles form on top of the hearts.
