The movie “Fireproof” is opening this weekend, September 26. For a preview and more information, visit here or click on the link above. This appears to be an excellent movie by the same producers of “Facing the Giants”. Their goal in making this movie was to be a change agent in our culture and save marriages. Marriage is one of the corner stones that God set up and it is a picture of Christ and the Church.
The movie is about a marriage in crisis and the “love dare” that the husband’s father gives to him to help his son win back his wife’s heart. Christians purchasing tickets and showing support at the opening weekend for this God- honoring film is critical to keep it in theaters.
Let’s help encourage Sherwood Baptist Church in their desire for this movie to be a change agent in our culture: go and see it this weekend, invite others to join you. The opening weekend will decide if movie will continue in the theater or not.
Aaron and I had a few friends and family attend pre-screenings of this movie and highly recommended it. I personally was greatly blessed and encouraged by “Facing the Giants” and thus want to get behind the efforts of this church to supply our culture with Christ-honoring films. We will be there!
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Heb 10:24
This movie is right on target! It’s a definite challenge or “dare” to Christian (or otherwise) couples to treasure and protect their marriage…It has some great clean humor too!
Some of the writing and acting was campy and overdone and a little awkward, but frankly I expected that. In fact, the production values were excellent overall, which was actually MORE than I expected. From a purely cinematic point of view, not going to win any Oscars, but not B-movie grade either. Overall, a very good effort and worth money spent in the theater, and I encourage people to see it in the theater because it’s worth it for many reasons. I will be purchasing this movie as well.
The story, the message, and the movie on a visceral level was fantastic. Seriously. I knew beforehand that Mr. Cameron would be kissing his wife and not the actress, and that made that scene so incredibly powerful. To me, it actually reinforced the message. And what a message! I cried so many times, and there were some really well-done suspenseful scenes, and some genuinely funny and well-played comedic moments that made this movie such a treasure.
Overall, I highly recommend this movie and I LOVED it. It touched me and it was a genuine connection, not a forced one. Beautiful, rich movie.
FireproofLooks great. I plan on seeing Fireproof next weekend. I just got done watching the trailer at FlickOut.com. They have the trailer in awesome HD quality. Let’s support this film!
My husband and I went to see this today and it was fantastic! We really enjoyed Kirk Cameron in it. The movie was funny and touching. We laughed, we cried. It was wonderful to see a marriage succeed by effort and prayer.
Go see it everyone!
I have chills after watching the preview just now. I can’t wait to see this!
I NEVER watch Dr. Phil … BUT – I was upstairs nursing my baby, so I flicked on the TV and there he was, talking about Fireproof. The movie seems to be getting quite a bit of publicity. How great is that!
my husband and I would liek to see this film. We wre going to go with friends, but unfortunately couldn’t find places for our girls to go. Not a big deal, any other time we have grandparents right there and ready.
Say, have you heard the good news about Kirk Cameron’s commitment to his marriage? I have a post about it on my blog.
Let me know how you like the film. Our family always waits for it to come out for rent on DVD.
I got an email that Kirk Cameron is going to be on Dr Phil today promoting the movie Fireproof and talking about marriage.
Just wanted to let you and your readers know.
Have a blessed day.

I saw an interview with Kirk Cameron on the Today show. He said that he will not kiss anyone but his wife so in the scene where it looks like he is kissing the actress it is really his wife dressed up like her. I thought that was a great example of his love for her. He also talked about marriage, his 6 children, and his love the God. What a great example for our culture.
I can’t wait to see the film! Our church was able to purchase some tickets for a few of the couples in the church-and we are going this Friday evening! Yay for the date night! Now-off to find the babysitter;-)
and goodness, Lindsay, do you remember me? Waaaay back in Mrs. Shoenborn’s science class? The silly girl who was on your team for outdoor school one year-(i believe it was the year that Star wars episode I came out, and your dad had some great information on it-from a christian perspective?) lol. well anyhow I have been frequenting your blog for a couple of months, now, and I’ve got to say it’s such a joy!! May Christ bless your day, my encouraging sister!
My husband follows Kirk Cameron’s ministry (Way of the Master) quite a bit and has talked about this movie for a while now. We have plans to see it this weekend. I’m so glad you mentioned this movie on your website!
I had the privilege of attending a pre-showing of Fireproof, and it was wonderful. Not only is it a movie that will make you laugh and cry, but my husband and I are convinced that it will be a fantastic tool for encouraging healthy marriages. We are not usually movie people, but we look forward to giving many of our friends and people we work with tickets to this movie. I highly recommend it!
I heard a preview for this movie on our christian radio station yesterday. It sounds like a great movie. I will have to find out if it is playing around my area.
BTW, I love your blog, it is so inspiring. Thanks!!!
