This quote has brought great encouragement to me when I have been overwhelmed by feeling like cleaning, cooking, taking care of my little one are insignificant. Each humble task is so important if done with a heart that views it as a great and noble task!
While at a gathering at our church last time discussing the topic of parenting, this thought was shared:
The greatest thing you may ever do is to raise your children and to include them in your lives!
How full of truth that is! Of all the important things we may accomplish in this life, raising our children to love the Lord and include them in serving the Lord together with us, is a high calling, and one not to be taken lightly or passed off to the “professionals”!

Such an encouraging post… It’s truly what I aspire to and hope for. I’m studying medicine at the moment which might sound so rediculous when my hope is to be a homemaker and full-time wife and mother in the future! But here in England we chose university courses aged 17, and not many people tell you that studying medicine may not be the best idea! But in fact, I’ve seen that the Lord had his hand on getting me I’ve learned to pray that he will enable me to serve him in the position I’m in right now.
It is really incredible though when I ask friends of mine who are also training to be doctors whether they think that’s the best use of their time etc. And so many of us girls, particularly the Christians, have caught the idea of how wonderful it would be to serve a husband and children – which in reality can’t be done alongside being a full-time doctor! Dilemma indeed!
Being a doctor is certainly a valuable thing, but I’ve realised that motherhood is a far higher calling.
It was so encouraging to read your post, and also an encouragement to keep trusting the Lord in this season of my life, as I wait to see what the Lord provides next.
